Greetings Sorors and Friends!
On behalf of the Dallas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website. With a current membership of nearly 600 dynamic and dedicated members, it is my esteemed honor to serve as the 49th President of this exceptional, award-winning chapter. Together we work toward the common goal to impact lives and positively transform communities.
Chartered in 1924 by one of the twenty-two founders, Founder Frederica Chase Dodd, the Dallas Alumnae Chapter has been in the forefront fulfilling our sorority’s mission with a remarkable legacy and history of public service that spans for nearly 100 years. In 2024, the Dallas Alumnae Chapter will celebrate its “Centennial Celebration of 100 years of Sisterhood, Scholarship, Service, and Social Action” in the Dallas County communities we serve!
Our programs are aligned with the objectives and goals of our sorority and directly reflects our organization’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and Involvement.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Since its founding, more than 300,000 women have joined the organization. The organization is a sisterhood of predominantly Black, college educated women. The sorority currently has 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters located in the United States, Canada, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica and the Republic of Korea.
