TASPers is a youth group sponsored by the Dallas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Gladys Collins organized it in 1965 as a vehicle to work with young ladies in an organized program that includes community service, scholarship and leadership development. Through TASPers, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. seeks to help young ladies achieve their personal goals by capturing their creative energies and directing them toward personal empowerment.
The mission of TASPers is to direct young ladies toward cultural, educational and public service activities, guide young ladies toward finer womanhood by encouraging high moral, intellectual and cultural standards, provide the young ladies with an opportunity to exchange ideas with their peers, and provide a forum in which to develop communication and leadership skills
TASPers is open to young ladies in the 7th – 12th grades in good standing with their schools. Members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., active and former members of TASPers, school officials, and community and/or Church leaders may recruit potential members.
