Intelligence is the Torch of Wisdom, and that torch burns brightly in the Southwest Region of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Blazing into Literary Brilliance, Delta Authors on Tour makes its Southwest Region stop in Dallas on Saturday, June 3, 2023, when six brilliant Delta Authors gather in conversation and discussion about their literature in genres including children’s, fiction, self-help, leadership, and much more.

Meet The Authors
Dr. Terri Major-Kincade is a double board-certified Neonatologist and Pediatrician who specializes in the care or premature infants and their families. She is an expert in Neonatal Palliative Care, Racial Health Disparities around Birth and Maternal Health Outcomes, Follow-Up of High-Risk Infants and Physician-Parent Communication. As the Chair for the Steering Committee for African American Outreach for the Texas Chapter of March of Dimes, Dr. Terri has facilitated local, state and national campaigns designed to maximize community partnerships for better birth outcomes. She additionally serves on the National Board of the Perinatal Loss and Infant Death Alliance and Return to Zero where she discusses strategies for cultural sensitivity to better support families experiencing neonatal loss. Dr Major-Kincade is known for her exceptional care of babies and families and her ability to translate complex topics with humor, compassion and urgency. She is a sought after physician, speaker, and two time best-selling author in the area of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Work-Life Balance. ORDER HERE
A native of Queens, New York Times Best Selling author Victoria Christopher Murray earned a B.A. in Communication Disorders from Hampton University and an MBA from New York University. Victoria spent ten years in Corporate America before launching her entrepreneurial venture, a Financial Services Agency for Aegon, USA where she managed the number one division for nine consecutive years. Dubbed a Christian Fiction writer because no one else was writing about religious topics, Victoria trailblazed the literary scene penning more than 30 novels, cowriting with other authors, and ghostwriting for top talent across the country. Terysa Ridgeway is a Technical Program Manager at Google and holds Computer Science and Mathematics degrees from Southern University and A&M College and is nearing completion of Stanford University’s LEAD Executive Education program. She has extensive experience in solving complex business and technical problems as both a Software Engineer and a Program Manager; leading a number of initiatives in the Healthcare, Aerospace, and Aeronautics industries. Terysa is actively involved in educational programs, with a focus on STEM, that empowers youth in her local community. She takes great pride in giving back as a STEM advocate and mentor to afford youth from rural areas educational opportunities that would otherwise only be available to those in larger cities. She has received recognition professionally from Governor John Bel Edwards, Senator Clay Higgins, and Mayor-President Joel Robideaux for her efforts to introduce STEM to youth from underprivileged backgrounds. In addition to Terysa’s STEM contributions her humanitarian efforts can also be felt both locally and globally. She is the recipient of keys to three Louisiana cities: Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Opelousas, Louisiana; Sunset, Louisiana. Her hometown, Sunset, also issued an official proclamation on March 24th to honor her accomplishments and civic contributions annually. Her spirit of helping others in need has also made a huge impact globally, as Terysa was officially appointed as one of the United States Goodwill Ambassadors – by President Yahya Jammeh, the President of the Republic of The Gambia, the 3rd poorest country in Africa. Sheretta M. West is known for her faith, prayer-life and courage. She exudes confidence in her many roles as a wife, mother and as the First Lady of The Church Without Walls; a congregation of 20,000. Sheretta serves as the ministry leader for the Mosaic Women’s Ministry, The Diamonds in the Rough – mentoring program for teen girls, and the Ralph Douglas West Ministries. She is the Executive Producer of the Encouragement Today Broadcast and the Editor of The Brook, a magazine publication of The Church Without Walls. She is also the Editor of the Mosaic, a women’s magazine that is also a publication of The Church Without Walls. Sheretta is the founder of First Ladies Inspiring Retreat & Empowerment (FIRE), a spiritual gathering that meet the unique needs of Pastor and Minister Spouses. Her passion to help others began as a young girl; working diligently with her church and community organizations. She is the founder of Charmingly Pink Breast Cancer Foundation, a 501 (c) 3, a non-profit charitable organization that supports breast cancer research, education, early detection and life-saving treatments. Through charitable contributions Charmingly Pink has raised over $450,000. Sheretta added author to her list of accomplishments. Her recent publications, Order My Steps Volume I- Learning to walk the path order by God, Order My Steps Volume II- Walking in confidence with God, are bible studies for women. Order My Steps Volume III – Walking in daily communion with God is a 40-day devotional study for women.Sheretta’s fine organizational skills coupled with her faith have spawned success in life-changing women’s retreats, conferences, leadership and empowerment seminars, bible studies and charitable events. Sheretta endeavors to minister to the needs of women from all walks of life. Her commitment to community outreach and to esteem women extends beyond the walls of her congregation. She seeks to equip and encourage women to move beyond mediocrity and live the abundant life that is designed for them. Sheretta’s life work has led her to University campuses, hospitals, various women shelters and transitional homes. She and her husband are committed to supporting education and ministry preparation. Their philanthropic support is local and international; West Africa Theological Seminary(WATS), Project Abroad, Convoy of Hope – Haiti Project, and local Universities, Seminaries, Organizations, Associations and Special Projects.Sheretta operates within the gifts of teaching, encouragement, administration and serving. She has received numerous awards: Inspire Woman of Influence, Top 25 Women of Houston, One of Houston’s Leading First Ladies, Legacy Award, Congressional Recognition and other honors for her community and ministry involvement. Sheretta’s main objective is to live a life that brings glory and honor to God.Sheretta grew up in Northeast Houston and attended school in formally, North Forest School District. Sheretta received a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A) in Computer Information Systems from the University of Houston. Brenda A. White is an Author, Certified Coach, Speaker, and Trainer. She is the Founder of Choices Within, LLC, a leadership, coaching, and team-development organization offering services that change how serious individuals approach self-improvement and empowerment. Brenda specializes in individual improvement for personal and business growth. She believes in focused living and the importance of personal goal-setting and action plans. She developed a love of reading and a desire to write in her early teenage years. Through faith and discipline, she explored her options and then executed the plan to put the stories on paper. Subsequently, her debut novel, “The Best I Have to Offer,” was born in 2010. Her sophomore novel, “The Final Offer,” was released in June 2015. Her novels are humorous and drama-filled love stories of bringing your complete self into a relationship while being pruned through joy, pain, and adversity. Her short story, “Not Daddy’s Girl,” contributed to the anthology, The Ex Chronicles. It was released in 2016 by Brown Girls Books, made the best-sellers list several times, and received The Best Short Story of the Year Award from the African American Literary Awards. She believes a clear sense of direction and intention can help us understand and become all God created us to be. She encourages herself and others to think big and work the power within, leaning heavily on one of her favorite scriptures, Ephesians 3:20 (KJV), Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. She has coached countless professionals to navigate their careers, so much so that she deemed it necessary to share her experiences, thoughts, and questions in her first non-fiction book and action journal, “Why Not Keep Up with the Joneses… behaving your way to success.” She has received a Proclamation from the City of Houston, Certificates of Congressional Recognition, and various awards for her literary work and her service in the community. Brenda has impacted the lives of countless individuals throughout her career, church, and work as an active Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated member. She enjoys volunteering at various not-for-profit organizations, mentoring, and coaching individuals in developing life plans. She encourages herself and others to think big and work the power within. In addition to the love of writing, her family holds her heart; she gets highly excited while watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys; she makes a good attempt at golfing, and she self-proclaims an addiction to books, bags, journals, music, and shoes.
